How to Choose a Great Home Biz!

 My spouse, Jody Maley, has been involved in a home based business for years (and made a significant income from it too).

Over the years, she kept telling me that I too, should have my own business.  We dabbled in a few, but competition for some were pretty strong; after all, vitamins and juice seem to be everywhere.

Here are some benefits to having your own home biz:

• You get a tax break when you do your income returns (I had no idea about this even tho Jody had been telling me for years, what a nice surprise to get back almost $2,500)
• This can be done in your spare time..no need to quit your day job...until your biz is secure
• When your doing something you are passionate about you are truly helping other people....it's great when someone has benefited from what you are promoting and tells you how your product helped them...
• The extra money can be saved to purchase something you normally wouldn't buy....a great vacation, unexpected repairs on a vehicle, new snow tires..ya get the pic!
• When you do Travel, make sure you talk to some people about your biz...or even travel to a workshop or seminar...and you can write off portions of it at tax time! mmmm get paid to travel??? 

Here are some tips when you are thinking of joining a biz:

• Make sure it is something that you truly love and are passionate about. For instance, I sell PrePaid Legal advice, something that I see the 'value' of everyone having (after all, at some point you need a will done, buy a house etc...)
• If it is something you love, it is sooooo Easy to share! When we bought our new house, we saved 25% of our legal fee's...on something we were gonna purchase anyways!
• Sell or Market something that is an upcoming trend! Here are Jody's fav 5's

1. Healthy Living products!
2. Legal Advice at your finger tips (of course), but it seems everyone is either suing or being sued these days.
3. Women's Beauty Products
4. Animal products....we love our friends and will spend crazy money on them! shhhhh don't tell our dog Pepper
5. Travel
6. Ok...she lied she told me to add one more....and its a good one too....Things that make you more money!  RRSP's, MLM, how to save thousands on your mortgage etc...

And finally I would like to point out the time factor!  Ya know the saying "Rome wasn't built in a day?", well it wasn't, and its still standing hundreds of years later!
Don't beat yourself up if you choose something that didn't make u a millionaire the next day, just know that if you keep plugging away...you will eventually see results!
